OAU STAFFS LAMENTED OVER JUNE 2016 SALARY PAYMENT

The Academic and the Non-accademic workers of Obafemi Awolow University,OAU, have lamented the recent Vice-Chancellor tussle in the school have affected their payement of June 2016 salary.



Following the paralysis of activities on the OAU campus which resulted fron the protest of non-academic staff of the institution who believed that there was an illegalities during the process of appointing a new Vice-Chancellor, V.C. 

Due to this tussle, the Federal Government, F.G, have ordered the closure of the institution until the court have made their conclusion on the matter. 

According to Punch, some of the non-academic staff have started solicitin for fund as an alternative to seek survival. Some sources have confrirmed that salaries have not been paid due to unavailabilty of a V.C.

Also, during a meeting of the academic staff last Wednesday, some lecturers raised the alarm over the non-payment of their salaries. When contacted on Saturday on the telephone, the Public Relations Officer of the OAU, Mr. Biodun Olarewaju, explained that there was no one to issue directive to the University’s Bursar for salaries payment.
