HOW OBA ONIBA OF IBALAND WAS KIDNAPPED.
This weekend, On Saturday Night, was terrible night when certain armed group, who have been associated to be one of the Ijaw Militant Group abduct one of the first class Monarch in Iba town, Lagos State .
The wife of the king, according to Vanguard Newspaper, said the attack took place around 8 pm in the night, while the police assigned to the palace have closed for the day around 4 pm. The wife of the, Mrs. Nofisat, confirmed that the Oba Oniba of Ibaland was having his bath when the attacker stormed the palace.
Vanguard gathered that, the gunmen were 15 in number and about 6 of them entered the palace. They shot indiscriminately at the people to scare them away. Two people were shot in the process, a bike mand and a bus driver. The bike man died instantly while the bus driver is receiving treatment in the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.
The leader of the militants was confirmed from the police to be a native of Arugbo, an Ijaw community in Ondo State. They are said to ave taken the monarch to somewhere in Ijegemo, Ijegun, in Lagos.
The act of kidnapping have been said to be because they were unable to siphon oil again from pipelines.
The son of the monarch, Alhaji Kabiru Oseni have described the incident as a disgraceful act. The gunmen took the phone of the monarch's wife was taken along but are yet to demand any ransom for now. The said militants were said to have came in through the river and also left through the river.
