About 11.53 PM EDT on the 4th of July, 2016, controllers in the NASA confirmed the safely arrival of their new planetary probe on Jupiter.  Diane Brown, the Juno Program executive at the Headquarter in in Washington D.C has told the reporters at post-insertion briefing after the five years journey the feeling was overwhelming that the orbital insertion was flawless. "Being able to know that will can go to bed without worrying about what will happened tomorrow is pretty awesome.", she also said.

Juno will not only be studying the exterior structures of the biggest planet but also it  will go deep to study its interior structures, Diane confirmed. The highest risk part of the mission was the  powering up of the craft system during insertion, controllers have confirmed. Data have now been downloaded to study the health of Juno.

It has also been confirmed that the full observation of the planet will begin at the end of August after the initial 53-day orbit but the science instruments will be turned on 5 days from now. The craft will then settle into a 14-day orbit and circle the planet pole-to-pole 33 times over the next year and a half before being plunged into Jupiter’s clouds at the end of its mission to prevent an accidental collision with one of Jupiter’s moons, which could contaminate them with earthly microbes.
